Do you take health insurance?

Yes – I am currently considered  an “In-Network Provider”  with MedCost, Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance (CBHA), Aetna, Cigna, and most Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) PPO, BCBS Blue Options, and BCBS State Health plans. Costs will vary depending on the plan and type of coverage you have.

I am considered “Out-of-Network” for United Healthcare and all BCBS Marketplace/ACA plans such as Blue Local, Blue Value, or Blue Home. Depending on your plan, services may still be covered using Out-Of-Network Benefits. Good Faith Estimate Notice

Effective January 1, 2022, a federal ruling went into effect called the “No Surprises Act”. Individuals who are not enrolled in a health insurance plan, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage have  the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

If you do not have insurance, or if your current financial situation would make it difficult for you to afford my standard fee, please let me know so that we can talk about possible alternatives. Reduced scholarship rates are available on a case-by-case basis.
